Senator Egan moved that the bill be returned to second reading for the purpose of a specific amendment, that being Amendment No. 1. Without objection, the bill was returned to second reading. Senator Egan offered Amendment No. 1 : Page 1, line 2, following "Refuge": Insert "; designating the House of Wickersham as the official residence of the lieutenant governor and making the House of Wickersham available for other uses; and relating to per diem claims by the lieutenant governor that are related to the location of the official residence of the lieutenant governor" 2014-04-18 Senate Journal Page 2587 Page 3, following line 17: Insert a new bill section to read: "* Sec. 2. AS 44.19.020 is amended by adding new subsections to read: (b) The House of Wickersham in Juneau is designated as the official residence of the lieutenant governor. The House of Wickersham shall be (1) used as the living quarters for the lieutenant governor and as a place for the conduct of official and ceremonial duties of the lieutenant governor, and shall be available for use by the Alaska Historical Commission established under AS 41.35.300; (2) managed to maintain its historical integrity; and (3) shall be available for public tours and events. (c) If the House of Wickersham is not used as the primary residence of the lieutenant governor and the lieutenant governor is in Juneau for state business, the lieutenant governor may claim per diem, but shall reimburse the state for the cost of accommodations." Senator Egan moved for the adoption of Amendment No. 1. Senator French objected, then withdrew his objection. There being no further objection, Amendment No. 1 was adopted. HOUSE BILL NO. 246 am S "An Act adding additional land and water to the Creamer's Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge; designating the House of Wickersham as the official residence of the lieutenant governor and making the House of Wickersham available for other uses; and relating to per diem claims by the lieutenant governor that are related to the location of the official residence of the lieutenant governor" was automatically in third reading. Senators Micciche, Bishop, Fairclough, Giessel, Egan, Meyer, Stedman, Dyson, Ellis, Kelly moved and asked unanimous consent to be shown as cross sponsors on the bill. Without objection, it was so ordered.
